Dr. Klaus Richter
DE, *1953,

holds a doctorate in Applied Physics from the University of Göttingen. From 1982 until 1990 he was employed by one of Germany's leading technically-oriented management consultancies, for four years as Vice President of Finance and Administration, with major business development responsibilities. In 1990, together with his partners, he founded his own company and focussed on the development of the New Länder after the German re-unification and on Central and Eastern Europe. He personally has been a member of several political advisory committees to governmental bodies, e.g. as an advisor on economic affairs to Prime Minister of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and as part of exprt teams of EU or Worldbank funded project in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Poland, Czech, Croatia, Montenegro.

He is a member of several professisonal bodies, e.g. Vice President of Business Consultants International (BCI) for several years, and member of Public Sector Advisors, both of it professional associations under the umbrella of BDU (the German Management Consultants Association), Executive Advisor (for CEE and Russia) to the EMF in Brussels, member of the ECIC committee of FEACO (Federation of European Management Consultants Associations) related to EU procurement rules and regulation.

Klaus is also co-founder of industrial Joint Ventures in Russia and Latvia, and of the Führungskräfteakademie Schloß Nöthnitz, in cooperation with INSEAD, Fontainebleau. In 2004 he has served as CEO for an investment holding, preparing a public offer of 25 MEUR and raising money for investing in medium sized companies in Russia.

Klaus' working languages are German, English, French, and Russian. He also knows some Spanish, Italian, and quite recently Croatian. He has qualified as Certified Management Consultant (CMC/BDU 218701).
